Oh so inspired by...

In the past I've mainly posted on things about my work and life; however, I've come to realize that so much of what affects my life are things that surround me. Things I am inspired by. From time to time I'll start sharing things I found that caught my eye, made me smile, or are just simply beautiful. Hope you enjoy!

The Summer in Instagram - Part II

Labour Day weekend is over, and even though it's technically still summer, it really feels like fall. I woke up this morning to grey skies and pouring rain, which certainly didn't help matters much.

On a lighter note, I had a wonderful long weekend, including a day trip down to Seattle to check out Bumbershoot. I've known about this festival for years, but this was my first time attending. Highlights for me were Tegan and Sara and Death Cab for Cutie. There was also a booth screen-printing bags with the cute Bumbershoot image. Unfortunately I had to ditch the line-up, so I wouldn't miss Mates of State. It was bag or music, and the latter won.

As promised, here's a recap of my summer from the past month via Instagram. The pics are mostly photos of my trip down to LA. It was a great, but very busy week, and I don't think I realized what a special vacation this was until I was reminisced about it back at home. Do you ever have vacations like that? I hope you enjoy the photos! thanks, Val.

Happy Macaron Day!

Today March 20th is Jour du Macaron, as started by Pierre Hermé and Relais Desserts. Bakeries internationally get together to celebrate this day and donate proceeds to support their local charity. Being the kind of day it is, I thought it fitting to share a sneak peek at one of my new cards inspired by my love for this sweet treat.

Late night birthday celebrations...

It was my friend Tina's birthday yesterday, and after a long day of work, we gathered at Thierry for some late night celebrations. Four girls, four desserts, two macarons. It was a perfect way to end the day.

Living in a Dream...

Last Sunday afternoon, when I was in Fort Langley, the highlight was a visit to Little White House. It was like stepping into a whimsical dream. The house is separated into sections, with decor to fit each room. There's also a Salon Café that sells scrumptious cupcakes and macarons, perfect for high tea.

I bought a box of macarons home {not shown here as I ate them too fast}! My favourites were probably the Earl Grey and Nutella. You can view the Salon's menu here.

Tea + Macarons + Window Shopping

It was a rainy weekend in Vancouver (nothing new!), so a great time to catch up with friends indoors over some good eats. For anyone that knows me, I have two major food loves that I seem to talk about a lot and also take plenty of pics of - one of them being macarons! So it was no surprise when I visited a new place downtown called Soirette, that I had to pull out my iPhone to snap a few shots to share. On that same afternoon I also did a bit of window shopping and saw a cute outfit that reminded me of the macarons I had just eaten :)

Today I'd like to...

These pics were taken on my trip to Paris last summer. I'm hoping to share more of my travels with you in the next little while. Happy Valentine's Day to you and those you love!
